Burns Road, Karachi’s oldest and biggest food street, the famous Burns Road derives its name from a British spy-doctor Mr. James Burnes, who served the Raj in the first half of the 19th century in Sindh. Host to one of the oldest eateries in Karachi a few of whom are the Dil Bahar Dahi Baray, Malik Nihari, Waheed Kebab, Delhi Rabri, and Cafe Lazeez, which are the oldest eateries on the street. Most of these places are over 50 years old and serve the most delectable traditional foods that Karachi has to offer. Mohatta Palace:
Mohatta Palace takes you back to a royal time, the name itself is enough to justify the palace with its open grounds and breathe taking exhibits. The palace also holds a story that is enough to make a grown man cry. The palace was commissioned by Shivratan Mohatta in 1927 as a way to keep his beloved wife from dying, his wife suffered from a severe illness and was advised by the doctors to stay in a place where she can receive a lot of fresh sea air and in order to keep his beloved with him for a little while longer he got Mohatta palace built. After the partition, the palace was handed to Fatima Jinnah as a political office.
